  • The newborn period is filled with changes and developments within your baby’s system. This course is designed to empower you with the information to maximize your sleep and set a healthy foundation for your baby’s sleep. The expectations will vary from family to family and baby to baby but you should see your confidence improve before you even finish the course!

  • It is natural and normal for babies under 1 year of age to wake during the night. As this course is focused on babies under 4 months old, we expect and encourage you to feed your baby throughout the night as that is their biological need at this age range. What you can expect, however, is to set the stage for longer stretches of night sleep when their systems are ready. With this course you can expect to learn when your baby will need a night feed and when you can gradually reduce those night feeds and support them in connecting thier sleep cycles more independently.

  • No. The Newborn Sleep Essentials course is not sleep training. There will be no talk of letting your baby cry in this course! In fact, your new baby will NEED your support to fall asleep most days - that is natural and normal! In this course we are setting a foundation for future sleep development and decoding your baby’s unique sleep needs so that you can understand your baby and support them in their natural sleep development.

  • This course is designed for all types of families. As a certified sleep consultant who has worked with families all over the globe, bedsharing is one of the most common ways for newborns to sleep with their parents. In this course we will cover all sleeping environments from bassinets to bedside co-sleepers and bedsharing to ensure that you are creating a safe and sleep conducive environment for your baby.

  • Every baby and every family is unique! This course is geared towards families who:

    • are up all night

    • have babies who need to be bounced, fed, soothed, or held to sleep.

    • are exclusively breastfed, exclusively bottle-fed, or combination fed.

    • have had children before or if this is their first baby!

    • have reflux, medical complications or developmental differences.
